The forger controls the operating machine, forging hammer or press to forge the heated blank into a reasonable size. The forged blank shall be left with machining allowance. Then there is the forging blank cooling, there are many kinds of cooling methods, such as furnace cooling, air cooling, cold resistance and so on. According to the material and requirements of the appropriate cooling method.
2. gear machining
After the forging factory cools the gear blank, the forging blank can enter the processing workshop for processing. There are many processing technologies for gear forgings. The processing methods selected according to the different gear tooth shapes in the drawings are also different. Common processing methods include tooth hobbing, tooth polishing, tooth shaving, tooth grinding, etc. The gear tooth profile is directly machined by cutting tools with the same tooth groove shape of the gear. When the disc-shaped milling cutter is used to machine the gear, the milling cutter rotates along its own axis, and the wheel blank moves along its own axis. After milling a tooth groove, the wheel blank returns to its original place, and the gear blank is rotated by the dividing head.360 °/z. Mill the second tooth slot in the same way. Repeat until all gears are milled. Then heat treatment after shaving, heat treatment can improve the hardness and mechanical properties of gear forgings. Then grinding teeth processing. 3. gear detection
Comprehensive inspection shall be carried out on the processed gear forgings, and the appearance inspection of the products shall conform to the size regulations on the customer drawings. Ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MT), hardness, carburizing and other drawings. In order to meet customer needs, the mechanical properties of gear forgings must be tested mainly for yield, tensile, impact, metallographic and other tests. After quality inspection, the finished forgings are packed into the finished product warehouse for shipment after rust prevention and painting.
Due to the wide application of gear forgings and the increasing number of gears with high speed and high performance requirements, gear grinding is required to improve efficiency and quality.
